Invisible Orthodontics
Orthodontics
• Invisible braces
• 6 month braces
• Children’s braces
Invisible braces

Many adults and teens are eager to achieve beautiful smiles without wearing braces. Invisalign is an express aligner system that corrects the minor imperfections you dislike in only 5-6 months
It is a very comfortable way to straighten your teeth without wires and being virtually invisible, allows you to work, exercise and sociable as normal.
Once we determine that you are a candidate, we will have impressions that will be used to develop a set of aligners precisely for your smile.
You will be able to begin aligner treatment just 3-4 weeks later.
Six month braces

Braces traditionally mean two things to people (a) metal mouth and (b) long treatment. Six month smiles is a remarkable treatment with the main goals of straightening teeth, closing spaces and improving the overall symmetry of the smile. These goals are very similar to veneers, but of course avoid the necessity of drilling and tooth damage.
This is mainly a cosmetic treatment, and in the case of more severe orthodontic problems, traditional braces are still the first option.
Children’s Orthodontics
Children are a special case because they are growing.
As every mother knows, their children grow faster at some ages than at others. So dentists like to time their treatment for the ages when the child is mature enough to co-operate with treatment, and also when the bone is growing most rapidly. The optimum age for beginning treatment depends upon the specific problem but the best age for evaluation is usually aged 7 years. When problems are assessed early and treated prior to time that they have fully developed we have intercepted the problem and this is referred to as interceptive orthodontics. Early treatment results in faster and better result.
What are the early signs of orthodontic problems?
Parents should look out for
• Losing baby teeth early due to decay
• Top and bottom teeth that do not meet properly
• Crooked teeth
• Jaws and teeth that look out of proportion to the rest of the face
DENTAL IMPLANTS

A staggering amount of people in Ireland wear some form of dentures and many suffer the embarrassment of trying to adapt to what is in essence a foreign object in the mouth. Looseness and discomfort are common complaints, but more important, are the psychological aspects linked to wearing false teeth
Often one of the most practical solutions is a Dental implant that produces impressive results and is far more superior to bridge work.
WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?
Dental implants are used to replace the root structure of a tooth. They are made of titanium which the body easily accepts and the bone grows around the implant. Once the implant has been accepted crowns are placed on the head of the implant. All you can see is your new crown which looks feels and functions like your own natural teeth.
Implants are a well established treatment option. Implants have been scientifically tested and documented for over 30 years. They have a long term success rate of over 95% as shown in clinical studies .
Not only are dental implants a permanent solution and at a low cost they will not compromise any healthy adjacent teeth. They can also preserve the jaw bone which maintains the shape of the face.
Whitening
What kind of tooth whitening is available?
There are two forms of teeth whitening one which involves a kit that you take home and the other involves an in house treatment. The one hour “ zoom” laser treatment is the quickest and most effective treatment available and can only be carried out by a dentist. The procedure has been featured numerous times on “ extreme makeovers” and can bring your teeth up to eight shades lighter. This affordable treatment is non-invasive and in some cases can be more effectual than veneers
Who may benefit from tooth whitening?
Almost anyone. However, treatment may not be as effective for some as others. Your dentist can determine if you are a viable candidate for this procedure through a detailed oral exam, including a shade assessment.
Is whitening safe?
Yes. Extensive research and clinical studies indicate that whitening teeth under the supervision of a dentist is safe. In fact, many dentists consider whitening the safest cosmetic dental procedure available. As with any tooth whitening product, zoom! Is not recommended for children under 16 years of age and pregnant or lactating women.
How long do the results last?
By following some simple post whitening care instructions, your teeth will always be lighter than they were before. To keep your teeth looking their best, we recommend flossing, brushing twice daily, and occasional touch-ups with the whitening gel. These are professional formula products designed specifically to keep your teeth their brightest. They are available only through your dentist
Crowns/Veneers
Dental crowns are restorations that protect damaged, cracked or broken down teeth. A crown strengthens your existing damaged tooth so as to preserve its functionality.
Dental crowns are also commonly known as caps because a crown sits over your existing tooth covering the entire outer surface analogous to how a baseball cap would cover your head.
Crowns should not be the first treatment of choice just to improve the aesthetics of your teeth, because a dentist needs to grind a significant portion of the original tooth away.
Less invasive alternatives include veneers or dental bonding. Crowns are required when the strength of the tooth supporting the restoration is compromised since veneers and dental bonding restorations are only as strong as the supporting tooth.
In modern day dentistry there is a wide variety of dental materials to choose from. Some crowns are made from full gold, where as others are made from an alloy of metals fused to a porcelain outer shell.
After time, crowns and veneers that are made from a combination of metal fused to porcelain can begin to show dark gum lines that are not aesthetically attractive. All porcelain or ceramic crowns or veneers are the best choice for a natural cosmetic look.
There are many different brands and types of porcelain crowns and the variation between the costs of dental crowns at different dental practices may well reflect the quality of the materials used.
